  1. Supervisor, Network Services

    Position Summary:

    The Network Supervisor's role is to plan, oversee and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the Canadian network. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software and communication links. The Network Supervisor will also schedule and direct the activities of the PC/Network Technician to resolve end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of hardware and software as they pertain to network servers, communications equipment, desktop systems and phone equipment.
    * Working with the Manager for Network Services, designs and implements short and long term strategic plans to make certain network capacity of the Canadian network meets existing and future requirements.
    * Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
    * Manage and sure the availability of servers and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for ensuring timely and complete backup of servers and key production applications.
    * Develop and test plans for recovery/redundancy of key network systems.
    * Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPS's etc. Ensure resources are in place for ensuring optimal availability of network and its components based upon company's objectives.
    * Maintain Corporate standards and policies, manages and ensures effectiveness and compliance of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, VPN access, and intrusion detection systems.
    * Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network development efforts.
    * Identify vendors, outsources, and contractors to secure network products and services as needed.
    * Assess, recommend and administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
    * Establish procedures for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
    * Maintain network asset management including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.
    * Keeping with Corporate standards and guidelines, approves and administers user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
    * Direct activities of network services team, including conducting performance reviews, coordinating schedules, making recommendations for staffing levels, developing training plans based upon the needs of the Canadian Network Services Group, and conducting corrective action plans as required.
    * Provide and coordinate on-call support for network services.
    * Cultivates and promotes cooperation and teamwork within the department, organization, and among the organization's business support partners for achieving and fulfilling the organization's business goals.

    Required Skills and Education:

    * Bachelors degree in Computer Science
    * 4 + years of equivalent work experience supporting enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc..
    * Certifications in Microsoft and Cisco systems preferred.
    * Exceptional technical knowledge of network and PC operating and software systems, including Microsoft and Macintosh, Cisco, VM Ware, Anti-Virus, Intrusion Detection Methods, Veritas, and MS Office.
    * Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, etc.
    * Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards.
    * Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.
    * Experience installing network cabling and voice over IP systems.
    * Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
    * Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws..
    * Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
    * Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
    * Highly self-motivated and directed.
    * Keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
    * Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel both verbally and in written form
    * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  2. Purchasing Specialist

    Position Summary:

    This position is responsible for the successful operation of purchasing all supply materials for field and internal usage. Also responsible for expediting all incoming jewelry purchase orders as required.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Purchasing of Supplies – Field & Internal Supplies, Packaging Supplies & Building Maintenance
          • Forecast and order all supply and packaging items.
          • Forecast and order all printed forms, printed material, sales and marketing promo items and office supplies as needed.
    * Record the Purchasing & Receiving of Jewelry
          • Record Invoice Documents
          • Communicate with vendors (local + overseas) regarding shipping schedules and expediting of orders.
    * Monitor the Return to Vendor Procedure
          • Create Return Report
          • Communicate details to vendors and accounting department
          • Ensure Exporting of Returned merchandise is being done accurately
    * Effectively communicate with vendors, domestic and overseas, and UPS via phone and email to resolve issues
    * Additional ordering of misc. supplies on an as needed basis

    Required Skills and Education:

    * A post secondary education in Business or related field or 4 + years experience
    * 2 + years purchasing experience
    * Familiar with regulations and procedures as they relate to an import business
    * Knowledge of harmonization; experience working with customs documents
    * Good communications and organizational skills
    * Detail oriented
    * Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    * Ability to work independently and as a team player
